Literacy Schemes

As per G.O NO. ED 02 MPE 2017 dated 30.10.2018 the following literacy programmes have been sanctioned by the government out of the available KSLMA grants towards implementation during 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21.

State literacy programmes 2018-19

1.As per Dr.D.M.Nanjundappa’s report Literacy programme in backward taluks.

This programme was implemented in the selected Grama panchayaths of 95 backward, more backward and most backward taluks in 19 districts of the state.

Districts- Bagalkot, Belgaum / Chikkodi, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Gadag, Haveri, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara, Tumkur/ Madhugiri, Vijayapura, Bellary, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Koppal and Yadagiri.

Physical Target: 2.50 lakhs non-literates  in the age group of 15 to 50 years, of which 1,16,666 from the General category, 1,00,000 from the Scheduled Caste and 33,334 from the Scheduled Tribes, to be made literates.

Grant: Rs.750.00 lakhs

2.Literacy programme in City.

To improve the status of non-literates of the city/slums in 20 districts of the state, this literacy programme is implemented.

Districts- Bagalkot, Bangalore rural, Belgaum / Chikkodi, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Gadag, Haveri, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara, Tumkur / Madhugiri, Vijayapura, Bellary, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadagiri and koppal.

Physical Target: 2,04,000 non-literates in the age group of  15 to 50 years to be made literates.

Grant: Rs.612.00 lakhs

3.Literacy programme for non literate members of women self help groups.

Programme is implemented in 20 districts of the state for non-literate members of women self help groups, to improve their status and also to improve the socio-economic conditions of the women.

Districts- Bagalkot, Bangalore rural, Belgaum / Chikkodi, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Gadag, Haveri, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore,    Ramanagara, Tumkur / Madhugiri, Vijayapura, Bellary, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadagiri and koppal.

Physical Target: 2,04,000 non-literates member of women self help group to be made literates.

Grant: Rs.612.00 lakhs

4.Camp literacy programme for non literate members of the Grama Panchayath in 06 districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka area.

Literacy programme for elected non-literate members of the Grama Panchayaths-camp literacy is conducted for 21 days, so that they can effectively participate in the central and state government development programmes.

Districts - Bellary, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadagiri and Koppal.

Physical Target : To make  non-literates elected Grama Panchayath members into literates a 50 member camp is conducted for a total of 1500 non-literates Grama Panchayath members in 6 districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka in 30 camps.

Grant : Rs.169.00 lakhs

State literacy programmes 2019-20

2.Literacy programme in City.

Physical Target: 188500 non-literates in the age group of 15 to 50 years to be made literates.

Grant: Rs.622.00 lakhs

Programme is implemented in 20 districts of the state for non-literate members of women self help groups, to improve their status and also to improve the socio-economic conditions of the women.

Districts- Bagalkot, Bangalore rural, Belgaum / Chikkodi, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Gadag, Haveri, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore,    Ramanagara, Tumkur / Madhugiri, Vijayapura, Bellary, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadagiri and koppal.

Physical Target: 136333 non-literates member of women self help group to be made literates.

Grant: Rs.450.00 lakhs

 

4.Camp literacy programme for non literate members of the Grama Panchayath in 06 districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka area.

Literacy programme for elected non-literate members of the Grama Panchayaths-camp literacy is conducted for 21 days, so that they can effectively participate in the central and state government development programmes.

Districts - Bellary, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadagiri and Koppal.

Physical Target : To make  non-literates elected Grama Panchayath members into literates a 50 member camp is conducted for a total of 1250 non-literates Grama Panchayath members in 6 districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka in 30 camps.

Grant : Rs.141.00 lakhs
